WKH Website Know How
01 / BLUEPRINT

The next-gen website: no longer 1 pretty business card.
It's 1 asset that goes to work.

In 2026, the people looking for you may not Google you — they may ask AI directly. A next-gen website has to be comfortable for people to read, clear for AI to understand, and looked after by someone. WKH does it with 1 website + 3 AI Employees: HKD 6,000 · 3-page website · 3 AI Employees to get you live.

02 / WHAT CHANGED

A website used to be a brochure for people.
Now it's a database read by people and AI together.

Building a website 10 years ago had a simple goal: look good, have contact details, be findable on Google. Visitors came in and browsed at their own pace.

Things are different now. Over 1 billion people use ChatGPT every week[1]; nearly half of Google searches now show an AI-written answer at the top instead of 10 blue links[2]. When a customer asks "which beauty salon in Tsim Sha Tsui is good for sensitive skin", AI reads dozens of websites in seconds and picks a few to answer with.

So the definition of a "website" has changed in 3 ways:

  • From "for people to look at" to "for people and AI to read" — your services, prices, address and FAQ need to be written in a structure AI understands at a glance, not just carried by nice pictures.
  • From "done once it's live" to "someone looks after it" — content freshness, speed, security and broken links are all scored by AI and Google. A website left untouched for 3 years slowly disappears.
  • From "marketing material" to "trust asset" — AI decides which site to cite based on whether you have a clear identity (company details, reviews, authors, update dates). This is what Google calls E-E-A-T: Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness[3].

We call this kind of website a "next-gen website". It isn't a new technical term; it's 1 new role: the website is no longer an exhibit — it's 1 employee in your company that goes to work.

03 / FIVE SHIFTS

The next-gen website: what are the 5 things happening right now?

  1. 01

    Search has become answers

Google AI Overviews grew from 15% to 43% of searches within 1 year (Similarweb, July 2026)[2]. In AI Mode, 93% of searches end without a click[4]. Being "mentioned" by AI matters more than ranking high.

  2. 02

AI now helps build websites — and helps read them

AI-driven workflows are the number 1 web development trend of 2026; developers have shifted from writing code to "directing agent teams"[5]. For you: building a website is faster and cheaper, but "who looks after it afterwards" is the real difference.

  3. 03

Websites must be readable by AI agents

llms.txt, structured data and agent-readable content form 1 new set of "instructions for machines"[6]. Google itself says it doesn't rely on these files[3], but AI crawlers like ChatGPT and Perplexity do consult them. So both sides need to be covered.

  4. 04

Website speed optimisation and security are table stakes again

Server-first, edge / CDN and static output are the 2026 framework defaults[5]. Speed optimisation is no longer a bonus; the Lighthouse score is the entry ticket. 1 slow website with no SSL that keeps going down won't be prioritised by AI or Google.

  5. 05

Interfaces shift from "click" to "ask"

Agentic UI: software has started doing things on behalf of users instead of waiting for them to find the button[5]. Enquiries, bookings and triage on your website need to be caught instantly — not left for the customer to fill in a form and wait 3 days.

04 / THE INDUSTRY

The industry used to sell "building 1 website".
Now it has to sell "who looks after it afterwards".

Old-school web agencyNext-gen approach
Charge 1 project fee, deliver, doneOne-off website fee, with 3 AI Employees onboarded together at launch
Maintenance = call someone when it breaks"Keep You Standing" lays the technical foundation at launch: speed, SSL, CDN, backups
SEO is another agency's job"Get You Found" organises your content at launch so AI understands you
Enquiries go to email, answered 3 days later"Capture Your Enquiries" connects forms + WhatsApp and notifies your phone instantly
Clients can't edit text, pay every yearTraining handbook + admin access — the website is yours

WKH didn't invent this shift; the whole industry is moving towards "website as a service". Our difference is making the price and the roles as clear as possible: 1 Website, 3 AI Employees, 1 Price.

05 / FOUR LAYERS

How is a next-gen website built from foundation to facade? 4 layers, none optional.

  1. Layer 1

    Technology

Static output + CDN delivery, loading in seconds from global edge nodes; site-wide SSL; regular backups; structured data (Organization / Service / FAQ schema) so Google and AI know who you are, what you do and where you are at a glance. A Lighthouse score of 95 is the starting point, not the goal.

  2. Layer 2

    Workflow

3 AI Employees set things up for you at launch: "Get You Found" organises your content and business details; "Capture Your Enquiries" connects enquiries, triage and notifications; "Keep You Standing" sets up speed, security and backups. You don't need to know code, and you don't need to remember to do it.

  3. Layer 3

    Management

At the end of onboarding you get a 1-page plain-language handover: what content was organised, how the enquiry flow runs, and whether the site is healthy. You see what all 3 employees did at a glance, without logging into 10 dashboards.

  4. Layer 4

    Visual

Dark, clean, weighty premium design; restrained scroll motion and 3D depth; consistent colour, type and tone across the site. Trust starts building from the first glance.

Of the 4 layers, layers 1 and 4 are done at "build" time; layers 2 and 3 are done during launch onboarding. Most websites only have the first and last layers with nothing in between — which is why they slowly die.
